REAACT

The REAACT program is part of the Center for Excellence in Autism Research (CeFAR), founded by Nancy J. Minshew, MD, and now directed by Carla Mazefsky, PhD. Sun Project

The SUN Project partners directly with school districts to make schools more welcoming and capable of educating children with neurodevelopment disability in the common classroom. The idea of our SUN Project came directly from our PAARCC group – who told us that we need to start with changing schools if we want to reduce the alarming suicide rates in people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, like autism.

The National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) is the only national membership organization dedicated solely to meeting the needs of special education teachers and those preparing for the field of special education teaching.

AAPS promotes excellence in special education services for children and youth with disabilities and their families

We advocate for our students' access to the continuum of appropriate education placements and services as required by state and federal laws. All referrals and placements are in agreement with the local school district or appropriate educational agency.

We assist member schools with their efforts to improve special education programs and services through shared expertise and resources.

National Association of Private Education Centers

Proudly representing private early intervention programs, day schools, residential therapeutic centers, and adult service programs serving individuals with disabilities since 1971.  Although NAPSEC programs are diverse in the populations they serve and the services they provide, all strive to guarantee that each student's unique needs are met on an individualized basis in order to achieve his or her maximum potential. NAPSEC is the only national association that exclusively represents private special education programs.

Council for Exceptional Children

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the success of children and youth with disabilities and/or gifts and talents.  CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides professional development, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice. CEC is known as THE source for information, resources, and professional development for special educators.

Pennsylvania Department of Education

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) oversees 500 public school districts, more than 170 public charter schools, public cyber charter schools, Career and Technology Centers/Vocational Technical schools, public Intermediate Units, the education of youth in State Juvenile Correctional Institutions, Head Starts and publicly funded preschools, and community colleges.
